Silent Opera: What?

You arrive at the entrance to another world, and are handed a pair of Headphones. You step into the world of opera, and experience the highest peaks of emotional storytelling in a unique, personal sound world. Silent Opera uses high quality and brand new recordings of Opera’s
greatest works to bring the genre hurtling into the modern, hi-tech world. With a full symphony orchestra, an opera chorus and a cast of opera singers in your head, you are invited to wander the scenes at your leisure without losing a single note, breath or word. Characters slip in and out of your vision as they play out their story in an immersive environment, and for the first time, Opera is set loose.

With sponsorship from Sky Arts, IdeasTap, Royal Opera House and The Old Vic Tunnels, Silent Opera promises to excite, interest and enthuse audiences from across the UK, from novice opera-goers to hardened enthusiasts.
