BAR MANAGER
Fixed Term Contract until August 2012
(25 hours per week contract)
The Old Vic Tunnels is seeking a Bar Manager to develop and lead the management and operation of the bars within the venue to the highest standard in order to run a profitable business that meets sales targets.
You should have proven experience in successfully managing a busy bar with strong financial acumen, excellent written and spoken communication skills, strong IT skills and a demonstrable experience of maximising sales through strategic planning and marketing skills.
STAGE DOOR KEEPER(S)
Fixed Term Contract until August 2012 (Zero-Hour contract)
The Stage Door Keeper for The Old Vic Tunnels will be the first point of contact on the site and will be responsible for dealing with general enquiries both on the phone and in person. You will be responsible for ensuring the security of the venue by monitoring who enters the site and for preparing spaces for meetings as and when required.
You will therefore have excellent written and communication skills and the ability to be proactive and use your initiate to be able to work well under pressure during busy arrival and departure times.
SITE TECHNICIAN(S)
Fixed Term Contract until August 2012 (Zero-Hour contract)
The Site Technicians are responsible for providing hands-on technical and site support to visiting companies. This may typically require technical qualifications and experience sufficient enough to be able to set up and operate light, sound and AV equipment through to the participation in the construction and striking of event sets and layouts. The principle responsibility of the Site Technicians is to ensure the safe working operations throughout the site of any visiting companies for the safe and proper use and maintenance of any tools, equipment and the facilities associated with the site according to all the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
You will have proven technical experience in a similar role in a comparable arts venue with a good overview of operational aspects of technical sound, light, digital and AV equipment. A strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation with the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure and a willingness to work flexibly over 7-days a week, evenings and late night shifts is also required.
FRONT OF HOUSE ASSISTANT(S)
Fixed Term Contract until August 2012 (Zero-Hour contract)
You will be responsible for being the public face of The Old Vic Tunnels. It will be your job to enhance and promote the reputation of the venue by providing an excellent customer service experience including stewarding of performances and events, selling merchandise and programmes and ensuring that the venue is safe and well presented at all times.
You should have previous front of house experience in a similar arts venue, be well-presented and have outstanding communication and customer service skills, energetic and personable with a willingness to work flexibly on a 7-day week, evenings, weekends and late-night shifts. You should be passionate about live performance and the arts in general.
